Welding Procedures and Capabilities

The Welding Department utilizes multiple welding processes to fit the demand of various materials and geometries. These processes include SAW (Submerged Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). Each processor combination of processes has a WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) tailored specifically to the needs of the finished product, written by a full-time CWI on staff. These procedures are subjected to NDT and Destructive Testing to ensure compliance and weld integrity. Welding is qualified and performed per ASME BPVC IX, with the ability the write and perform procedures to whatever the customer may need.

Custom-built work-holding solutions were engineered for optimal product quality and enhanced safety. Valves ranging up to and including 48” can be fully modified to meet the customer’s needs. Stem extensions and pipe pups can be engineered to any specified length, and whether it is carbon or stainless, the welding department can meet the demand.

The Machine Shop can execute multiple profile changes to the valve adapters. These include raised face repair/modification, ring joint, flat face, and weld bevel schedule alterations. Size capacity ranges our entire suite of valves including 48”. Each piece is machined to an engineered print, first checked for geometry compliance right on the machine, then checked by the Quality Department with a host of measurement equipment including a FARO CMM machine.
